Education
I have a BA in mathematics from Carleton
College and a MS and a PhD in physics from the University of California-San Diego . My dissertation
research was in X-ray astronomy. I also completed teacher training to be
a secondary school mathematics teacher.
Work Experience
Following a post-doctoral fellowship with the National Research Council of
the National Academy of Sciences, and two
years of research at the Harvard/Smithsonian
Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, MA, I joined MIT/Lincoln Laboratory in 1985. I am currently
a group leader and do applied research.
Wayland Town Activities
Previously, I've served on three Town committees: the Buiding Advisory Committee
(6 years), the Information Systems Committee (1 year), and the Technology
Advisory Committee (2 years). I was elected to the Wayland School Committee
in 1996 and am also serving on the Middle School Building Committee (2000-2003).
Personal Information
My wife, Ann, and I have lived in Wayland since 1983. Ann is director of the Wayland Public
Library. We have three girls. Celia
graduated from Colorado College as
an art major and currently lives in Brooklyn. Emily attends Gettysburg College.
Melanie attends the Wayland High
School.
